Sobre a máquina de costura / About the sewing machine

My birthday was in the end of last month and my gift was a sewing machine. At first I wasn’t quite convinced with this model, mainly because of the amount of plastic pieces it brings (which for me can only thing it will break really fast) but also because I had other ideas in mind.

After a quick class ( and very troubled I might add) I started to like and sympathize with it – it sews quite nicely and above all it sews a lot of different fabrics (also plasticized fabric) and I could manage to sew a little bit of thin leather I had saved.

Regarding its “maintenance” issue I decided I will not worry about that for now and I will enjoy using it. If it continues to work like it has been I think we’ll manage just fine.

  1. I love the embroidery functions! I'm not sure what type is your mahcine and what brand, but me and my mum have had altogather three different modern-type plastic machines (two noral, one overolock) and they don't require professional maintenance more often than once a year at most - I clean them about once a month to remove dust, hairs etc., and from time to time my dad checks small issues. I think I've had big issues that needed professional reparation maybe twice in 10 years of using them. :) So don't worry too much, just treat them gently. ;)
